Purpose of the role
There are different ways to make corrections on a posted/closed property:
- If the purpose of the correction does not need to reflect any changes on the invoices, payables, and bank postings, then an admin can assign the Modify closings role to the user profile. Some of the sample scenarios are: awards credit needs to be transferred from one agent to another, a deduction was assigned to the wrong deduct line but the agent net will stay the same, or a property report needs to show a correction.
- If changes to the payables, invoices, or bank postings linked to a property needs to be corrected, then the best practice is to unpost the property and then repost all of the previous postings for the vouchers, deposits, and payments (search for the article: How to make corrections on a previously closed/posted property).
How to assign the Modify closings role:
- Click Security menu
- Click Users submenu
- Click search
- Fill in either the username, full name, or email
- Click search
- Confirm that the profile being modified is for the correct user
- Check the box beside the Modify closings under the roles column
- Click save
Once the role is assigned, the user may need to log out then log back in. The user can make changes on the fields of the property that are not grayed out (for example: selling price, pending date, est close date, gross commission, award %, deductions, etc.)
NOTE: The changes made is internal only and will not resend to Dash if epay was paid. Contact Dash directly if the property information or agent gross commission/awards need to be changed on that end. If epay was not paid, then the property can be pushed to Dash by clicking the submit button.
