Updated on

Welcome to your new accounting and back office software, darwin Cloud. To help familiarize darwin Cloud users, this article will give you a brief overview of what to expect when user first log into darwin Cloud.

The darwin Cloud sandbox is a training tool - any people, properties, bills paid, transactions closed, deposits made will not transfer into your live data. Please feel free to explore, add properties and people, close transactions and perform accounting tasks in this sandbox.

When a user first logs into darwin Cloud, the screen that will greet the user is called the Dashboard.

What a user will find on the Dashboard are information on action item that needs to be updated including missing information in properties, people, accounting items and franchise items.

To navigate to another screen in darwin Cloud, look to the top of the screen and click on a Menu item. The ability to choose a Menu item is to navigate depends on permissions given by the darwin Cloud System Administrator of each company. If there is a Menu item that a user does not have permission to, the Menu item will be disabled. A disabled Menu Item will not change its background color to green when hovered over, and is not clickable.

The available Menu item will turn green when hovered over.

When a user selects a Menu item, the next place to look is to the left of the darwin Cloud screen, the sub-menu choices. With the Menu items, the ability to choose a sub-menu item to navigate depends on permissions given by the darwin Cloud System Administrator of each company. If there is a sub-menu item that a user does not have permission to, the sub-menu item will be disabled.

A disabled sub-menu item will appear as slightly grayed out.

When a user makes a change or enters any data in a field on any sub-menu, the user must either Save the changes or Cancel. In darwin Cloud, users are not able to navigate out of any sub-menu until doing so. All sub-menu and Menu Items are disabled.

When it is time to exit darwin Cloud, after any changes have been saved or canceled, (1) simply click Close.
