In darwin Cloud, there’s a new tool to correct a commission pre-payment that was applied incorrectly. It solves this problem: What do you do when you have received a commission payment in advance - but the payment was recorded on the wrong house?
There are instances where a pre-payment is allocated incorrectly to another property. This happens when 2 properties have similarity in terms of addresses. To fix this, please follow the steps below:
Locate the property where the pre-payment was allocated incorrectly
- Click Properties menu
- Click search
- Enter a portion of the address, click enter
- Click on the property
- Go to Accounting submenu
- Click on the blue hyperlink for payment #
- Click unpost to make the move prepayment feature to appear
- Click move prepayment
- On the property address field, enter a portion of the address of the correct property where this prepayment should be allocated to
- Hit enter on your keyboard
- Click on the property
- Go to back to Properties menu
- Click Basics
- Click search and pull up the property where we transfer the prepayment
- Enter a portion of the property address
- Click search
- Click on the property
- Go to Post sub menu
- Notice that the prepayment has now been allocated correctly to the proper transaction
