How do I Transfer Money Between Accounts

  1. Click the Ledger button at the top of the screen
  2. Click Journal submenu
  3. Click the new button to create a new journal entry
  4. Select the company from the drop-down list
  5. Type reference / description, reason the transfer is occurring
  6. Enter the journal date by typing in the field or selecting it in calendar from the drop-down menu
  7. Click the start button
  1. To start click here to add a new row
  2. Select the office from the dropdown list that will be affected by the transfer, hit tab
  3. In the account field, select the GL Account from the dropdown list to transfer money from
  4. Enter the memo reference for more details of the transfer
  5. Since money is transferring out of this account, type the amount to transfer in the credit column then press tab until it creates a new line
  1. Within the second row, select the office from the dropdown list that the transfer will effect, hit tab
  2. Click the account field and select the GL Account from the drop-down list to transfer the money into
  3. Enter the memo reference for more details of the transfer
  4. Since money is transferring into this account, type the amount to transfer in the debit column
  5. Verify that the out of balance amount is $0.00, the journal entry will not post if out of balance is not $0.00
  6. Click the post button

The screen shows that the transaction is posted

Unpost or Edit a Transfer

A transaction must be unposted before changes can be made.  If a transfer must be revised or reversed, use the following steps to unpost the record:

  1. Click the unpost button
  1. The page shows that the transaction is unposted and the user can make necessary changes.
